Energy saving light bulbs took a while to be generally accepted by the public. This can be mainly attributed to the flaws of its older versions. The lights are almost bluish and far from being homey. This, however, is no longer a cause of concern. Newer versions of these light bulbs are now available in a white coating. This generates a light almost similar to that of an incandescent light bulb. Before making the big switch, compare the kind of color temperature you want. The “warm white” colors are better than yellow or bluish tint. But of course, it is all up to you and your preference. You can easily test the bulbs in hardware or lighting stores. You can also refer to the color temperature. Those with 2650 to 2850 degree Kelvin temperature look more natural. The wattage, shapes and sizes are important considerations too.

Today, more and more incandescent light bulbs are being replaced by the energy saving ones. Soon, the incandescent light bulbs will be eventually phased out and may not be a common thing to buy. So start saving money while saving the environment by using energy saving light bulbs!
